k30 owners...one newbie question

I know this is a really stupid question but it wasn't answered in the manual. Does the pop up flash deploy automatically if you set it in the flash setting cause mine does not. It pops up fine when I deploy it manually with the button but in my other pentax in auto mode it would pop up if needed automatically by itself and this one has not even when taking a shot in the dark, In other words the ONLY way it pops up is if I push the button manually on the side in any mode set on the camera but it does flash fine.

K30's design is similar to top-end models. It will only engage if the button at the side is pressed manually. This avoids the "accident" of flash firing when there is no intention to do so.

My k50 behaves this way. In the flash menu there is no AUTO setting. My k100d series cameras have a flash auto mode and that does pop up when needed.

No auto flash pop up with the K-30. The K-X had it but it was entry level.
