The MZ S is a film camera. As such it does not have optical stabilizing.

OS was and is in use by film body's. If one use a third party stabilized lens (sigma, tamron..), do the MZ s support this?
Example: the Sigma 70-200 f2.8 DG HSM OS pentax mount.

grtssss,
apx

I'm pretty sure that many Nikon and Canon OS lenses work on film cameras since their initial releases were back in the film days. So in theory if you had a third party lens with OS it COULD work on the MZ-S as long as the lens doesn't need some form of communication with the camera to operate. I do have the camera, but none of my lenses has built in OS so there is no way for me to test this theory, sorry.

Correct statement would be the MZ-S does not have the in-camera Shake Reduction system introduced in the K10D and in all current Pentax digital SLR bodies.
As far as using lenses with built-in OS, bear in mind that any data sharing between camera and lens is through the mount. The MZ-S has a Kaf2 mount while current SR digital bodies use the "crippled" Kaf2. My point is that the MZ-S should be able to communicate with the lens just the same as current bodies, but in the case of in-lens OS, I don't believe there is any communication specific to OS other than aperture and focal length.

Since we're essentially only talking about Sigma lenses: if the MZ-S can power the HSM (which it should since it supports power zoom) then the OS should also be able to work. But it's not something that I have tested...

I would expect OS to eat the batteries though, DSLRs have plenty of battery energy to spare, film SLRS aren't quite as robust in that regard.
