K-5 and multi-exposure

How do I cancel multi-exposure on my K-5? I use a tripod and the cable release/switch CS-205 and I currently save in DNG & JPEG. For some reason, the camera is now running in multi-exposure all of the time. I have gone through the operating manual and could not find a way to stop the multi-exposure. I generally use either TV or M mode.

On k-3 it is part of the drive mode menu. Arrow up on the keypad. I think it was the same on the k-5. Arrow up and set to single exposure.

Yes, arrow up is correct for K-5. Just make sure you are not moving af points instead. In that case long press the ok button first.

On the K-5 multi exposure is part of the Recording Menu (page 2). Pressing the menu button twice - or more crudely - turning the camera off and on again *should* definitely bring you back to the normal drive mode.

If not, then it is rather weird indeed and I would suggest that you try a reset (Set-up Menu, page 3 on the K-5).

Not really if you already are in Multi Exposure mode on a K-5. In that case Arrow-up just toggles between 'Start Shooting* - 'Number of Shotts' - Auto EV Compensation'. Here, you must press the menu button twice to get out of that mode.
