A question regarding the charger for the Pentax K-5

Hi Folks

I have a question regarding the battery charger for the Pentax K-5.
I am in the process of buying a K-5 from Japan and I was wondering
if the charger is multi voltage or will I need a new charger to use here
in Australia? I am trying to avoid having the camera arrive and then
having to send off for a charger - if I can find out now I can order one
so it will be here at the same time as the camera

Also, I can get a K-5 II for around $200 Aus more than the K-5. Should I?

I grabbed Two lenses off ebay 16-45mm & 55-300mm so I can't change
my mind - I NEED a Pentax

all the best

The K5 II is the most undesirable of the 3. If it were a K5 IIS it might be worth it. Stick with the K5.

That's rubbish. The only difference between the K-5ii and the K-5iis is the AA filter which in practice gives a debatable very small improvement in IQ. The AF is much better on the K-5ii(s) as is the LCD screen.

Normally the battery charger is 110/220V for the K-01/K-5/K-3. You will only need to change the plug in Oz.

Have you considered a K-30/K-50? They are now quite cheap. Otherwise I would go for a K-5ii/K-5iis because of the better AF over the K-5.

Good lenses; add the K5/II.

K5 has artificial light focusing issues (from experience) when using PDAF focusing.

Charger that came with mine is multi voltage, just need a different plug.

Get the k-5II or k-5IIs if possible, much improved over the k-5. I've used both and the improvement in AF alone is worth the extra.

Yes, it should say so on the back of the charger. Available plug adapters should work.
