K-3 Auto Focus Stutter?

Hey guys, I've been having problems with my camera... I'm really sad because the auto focus somehow became like this.

I will link a video so you guys can see what I'm talking about.

It happens on both my screw drive lenses I have tried. DA 50 1.8 and my 55-300mm DA. It also happens on my HSM Sigma 17-70mm.

Help

Thanks!

What firmware version are you using in your K-3?

I can't really get much from that video. Are you using AFS or AFC?

Does it do this when you manually set the focus to infinity (AF OFF!) and attempt near focus or does it at least attempt to rack? If it will not even attempt to rack, it is a symptom failure. If it attempts to rack, but will not lock it may be something as simple as dust on the sensor window in the bottom of the mirror box.

It is a long shot, but you might want to clean the contacts on the mount. Use a microfiber cloth. There is potential for active communication (some lenses) between the camera and lens via the data contact and it is hard to say what happens if the connection is poor.

Hey, It happens on both AFS and AFC.

It racks , it just slowly... stutters bit by bit to get into focus. It will eventually get into focus, but it feels like to get into focus, it takes many stutters as if it isn't able to focus with micro movements, and these big stutters come out.

I have cleaned the contacts (or tried to at least) Both the contacts on the mount and the 2 inside.

I'm really scared it could be a serious problem that is hard to fix.

Thanks so far guys!

If you purchased in Canada, you should still be under warranty. Time to send your baby in for a check-up.

Heyo!

Thanks! Sorry for the late reply! I messaged Pentax support and probably going to message Adorama. I bought it online, so I'm not sure if the Warranty in Canada will be ok .
