K10d - after taking photo, all of screen flashes yellow.

I stand corrected, proof on the K10 that you need a gauge to align the SR-CCD..wait, I though these had a CMOS? :-) The glue is most likely for the SR function so as not to vibrate the assembly loose. Thats about the same amount of connectors on a K-x, 5 at each corner and 2 powers to the middle. I'd still give it a shot, not worth beans as it is.

The service manual refers to the assembly as SR/CCD.

With the 10MP sensor used in the K10D, K200D, and K-m (K2000) the Pentax CCD era ended.

The 14MP Samsung sensor of the K20D and K-7, and the 12MP Sony sensor of the K-x and K-r started the Pentax CMOS era.

Good to know. Ill refer to the correct nomenclature from now on. For the sake of curiosity, have you (the thread starter) dared to open the case? This could be as simple as a disturbed ribbon cable as there are 2 going to the SR/CCD. Perhaps one is dedicated to the sensor and one is dedicated to the Shake Reduction operation. I diagnosed a K-x "No LCD" issue to a detached ribbon cable. The plastic socket actually split on the end reducing its ability to hold the ribbon cable. The 2 are push on with no mechanical retention mechanisms (no clips or levers).

Nope, CCD. CMOS came on the K20D.

Seriuosly, save yourself the headaches and buy a new body. The time and trouble to change the sensor on an almost 10 year old camera is not worth it when you can buy used k5's for around $300.
