Newest Pentax 1.4 TC WR and Sigma f2.8 17-50 communication problems

Wanted to lengthen my lens reach a bit for a walk around a large lake and tried my Pentax 1.4x WR TC with my Sigma f2.8 17-50. I just cannot seem to get them to communicate much at all...only a bit at the lowest focal lengths which of course defeats the purpose I had. The TC works with all other lenses I've tested even an old 55-300 SMC which really shouldn't work.

Camera is a K-50 with up to date firmware as of 2 months ago.

Is this a known issue?

My 1.4 HD WR TC works well on my Sigma 17-70 2.8-4 C and also on the smc 55-300! In good light I can get decent pictures whith 50-200 WR, but threre is reduced contrast at the long end and weaker colours. Whith 100 2.8 macro WR there is very little loss of sharpness!

H'mmm. I'll work with settings a bit more.

Agree totally re 100 f2.8 WR...I am going to be selling my 135mm soon, I think, as it is totally redundant.

If you'd bought the Tamron or Pentax it would have worked .... (whistles). :-)
