Pentax KR, metal clip fell out

I've had my KR for quite a while...and I've looked after it. It's never been dropped or bashed , it's kept in a nice padded camera bag etc. I was out and about today and thought I'd take some pictures of some birds...so dismounted my standard lens and attached the longer lens. Went to take a photo and viewfinder was black. Double checked I'd taken lens cap off, yes, all settings right, battery ok, camera on, tried again, nothing. So I took lens off and found a semi circular metal clip looking at me from inside the camera body. It looks like it should just clip in but I can't see where and I'm loathe to go poking if I'm not sure.
I was talking to someone tonight and they asked for me to take a photo of the inside of the camera, so I took the lens off and there was another piece, identical to the first but more flexible.

Anybody know what these are and how I go about getting them back to where they should be please?

Please excuse the photo, for obvious reasons it's ended up being a photo of my phone which has a photo of the piece :/ lol

looks like you're right. I went and played with the two lenses I have, one springs back, the other ...doesn't. Ok, guess next question is how easy is it to repair? If you're still on the sunny coast, I am too...so if you know of any people who can repair it without breaking my piggy back, very much obliged.

Yeah, looks like the lens. If the longer one (50-200mm ?) works, then you're all good. A replacement 18-55 (even WR version) on eBay will be cheap to acquire (maybe treat yourself to an upgrade at the same time - a DA 35mm, 40mm XS, or 18-135; depending on budget, and the kind of shots you take).
