Not getting focal length prompt on K50

Well I finally stumbled across some old manual lenses at a flea market and carefully checked them and they seem fine. I even remembered to check for the dreaded 'ricoh' pin. However, when I mount them on my K50 I do not get the SR focal length prompt. SR is on but in the menu set focal length is grayed out and not available. AF and mode are both set to manual and I did mount the lens with the camera off.

What am I missing?

Drive mode set to timer or remote? (Needs to be single shot or continuous or SR will be off)

aperture ring set to yes in the set up menu?

Vagrant10, that was it. I thought I had set this but apparently forgot to hit 'ok' after I changed it. Works great now.
