Alternative to Flickr?

I went in today to try an access my Flickr account and they made all kinds of changes to the thing. I can no longer access my own pictures and to be honest I dislike what they have done.

What are some alternative file hosting sites that I can use?

Yep! I went there this morning and all my photos are gone from the Photostream..it says "You have no public photos."

Apparently you can "repopulate" your Photostream using the Camera Roll...if you have hours of time to spend doing it. Flickr is the worst photo site on the internet for making changes without your permission or any advance warning. They work and work to get it half decent and when it is there ......they destroy it and start all over with some beta version that is pure junk.

I also use PBase....a plan and simple site, easy to use and if there are ever any changes they are the ones you make yourself. Very reliable site, many options and cheap enough for me!

Regards!

I'm experiencing the same issues with Flickr this morning. I don't feel like "repopulating" my photostream, so I'm gonna wait it out for awhile, hoping this is just a glitch. I also use Photobucket, which works pretty well.

Hopefully we can make a list of free and paid alternatives and maybe Adam can make it a sticky.

Weird, what's happened? My stream seems to be gone now too - glitch or redesign?

I'm going to go with glitch because even having just uploaded a couple of test photos the stream is empty.

Yes, bugs are annoying. They are working on the problem.

If true, bad move flickr. I just looked at my account and the same thing has happened to me. I don't have time to reconfigure stuff, plus they seem to be getting more and more intrusive. I've been on the verge of getting off this and going elsewhere, I think I've reached the tipping point. I'll probably use pbase more and look at some of the others.

I've been using Picasa mostly but I do have a flicker account. The desktop picasa takes care of simple fixes and upload is easy. I like it less than I used to, especially after Google+ began to take it over.

I'm about to try weebly to see how it does things.. Maybe that's my solution.

Regardless of if its a glitch or not I personally think it might be a good idea to make the list. If it is a glitch that's fine, but going forward if I can I will have at least two options. When one starts giving me trouble I can move to the other. My personal hosting needs are simple and just for personal use but I will still have more than one account if possible.

I have two banks. I have two email addresses. So why not have two photo hosting sites?

Looks like a widespread glitch affecting the display of personal photo streams but not the photos themselves. I've checked a few peoples profiles, photo streams all show as empty but their photos are still there if you get to it by another route (e.g. a linked photo from these forums, or something found in a group, etc.). I can't imagine they won't fix this. It looks to be everyone.

This disturbing news makes me kind of glad I'm a dinosaur, and haven't ventured into Flicker, etc.

Yep, mine says no public stream too. No big deal as I never had a public stream to begin with. At least the albums are still there.
