Software download for new K50

My new camera arrived today and came with a CD -- S-SW138 -- Silky Pix.

My laptop has card reader but not a cd reader. Is there somewhere I can get a download of this software?

Download the latest version from Pentax

Software Downloads : Support & Service | RICOH IMAGING

Rename a SD card or USB drive to S-SW138

Then launch the installer you downloaded from Ricoh.

You have two options. First, you can buy or borrow an external drive. USB DVD burners selling for $20-40 and might be a handy anyway.

Second, request a card version from your supplier.

In the meantime, you can try trial versions of the latest version which is actually an improvement on the CD-ROM version via Free SilkPix Developer Pro5 Trial | Silkypix The Trial is good for 30 days.

The issue of downloading from Ricoh is that it's only an update though. Not the full version.

It's the full version, but it checks for the presence of a CD. That's why you rename a SD Card or thumb drive. You just need to name it right...

On Mac OS you don't even need a card or drive, you can just make a Disk Image with Disk Utility
