Yeah, unfortunately you'd have to wait for one to pop up on the used market.

Is the DA* 60-250/4 out of the question? I'm guessing the Pentax 70-200/2.8 is a good 3+ months out, and will likely be pricey for a while.

I tried the Sigma. It is silent and sharp. Unfortunately, Sigma stoped making it in Pentax mount. The only other choice is the upcoming Pentax 70-200 which is a superior lens albeit at twice the cost of the Sigma.

I have the Sigma 70-200/2.8 OS HSM (last version)..... paid around $1,100 at the time. Great lens, sharp enough wide open at each end to not be worth thinking about.

I have Sigma HSM II 70-200mm F2.8. A great lens in my opinion.

I am a proud owner of a Sigma HSM II 70-200mm F2.8, it is a good performer after AF micro adjustment.

Sadly the Sigma 70-200 is no longer available in the Pentax mount. I have 70-200 and it is a great lens you might find a used copy if you are very lucky. The last price they had for the 70-200 was less then half of what the new Pentax 70-200 will cost.

I must admit, I'd throw $1k on top of what I could sell my Sigma for to get the new Pentax..... mostly because I use it (70-200/2.8) quite a bit and I would like the weather sealing for nature photography (guerrillas in the mist).
