I was looking at this new article (great one):

The Evolution of the Pentax K-mount - Articles and Tips | PentaxForums.com

and was wondering what kind of mount this Vivitar would be considered to have as in the table? I *think* my K-r is able to set the aperture/speed with this lens, so it seems like it is a "KA" or equivalent type mount?

Thanks,
Jim

Ricoh had a program mode starting in 1984 with the XR-P. This is what the 'Ricoh Pin' is for.

Ricoh P lenses were not compatible with A mode on Pentax bodies and vice versa. Third party lenses usually had both the P pin and the A pin.
