Ist ds autofocus problem

Have Ist ds that appears to be new....but the autofocus is giving me fits.... I will try to describe the problem;... the autofocus will turn lens and focus from one direction only. By this I mean the autofocus will rotate focus ring in a clockwise fashion only ( facing camera front ) it will not turn focus ring the other way.. please help

Do you have another AF lens to try? Clean off the contacts (lens and camera) with a bit of rubbing alcohol.

I tried cleaning contacts, and another lens....I have a k100d body on the way to verify both lens.....thanks for reply

Yes...both lens focus manually ok...Also...If this makes sense...with camera on and AF on the focus ring turns clockwise with no resistance at all but counterclockwise there is resistance as if turning a motor. (facing front of camera)...I am afraid this may be terminal....seems to me there should be resistance both directions...
