New to forum: Need advise on FA31

Hi Guys, I am new to this forum. Got an opportunity to try with the legendary FA31 ltd on my K30. Would like to have your expert advice on the sharpness, bokeh and overall image quality of the sample photos taken using this glass before I make a decision to buy.

Just want to make sure I get good copy. All sample photos are straight from camera. Full size available at flickr

You might want to check your flickr links - when I click on them it's telling me they're broken.

Images on screen above look pretty good and any imperfections would appear related to technique, but I can't say much more than that. I've had a couple of opportunities to buy this lens and I've passed both times, possibly because I didn't have the opportunity to get out and about and shoot a lot of varied things with it or possibly because at the end of the day it's not really for me, but your needs and wants are almost certainly different. Some people can really make it sing while others sell it on for something they consider better, and only experience can tell which camp you fall into.

It's certainly a good investment if you shoot film on a K mount camera or are considering buying a K-1 at some stage in the future.

I have used the 31 and the 77 on my K5iis for two years now and love everything about them: build quality, sharpness, handling, bokeh, and yes, pixy dust is included. These guys are real pearls, I think. Very good prices have been available from Adorama and B and H at times, recently.

If macro photography is your prime interest, you may want to consider the several macro lenses from Pentax over the 31 Limited.

if you are looking to test a lens, shoot wide distant landscapes, and compare the sides with each other, and the center.

shooting centered objects like this has it's place, but lenses fail on the sides and corners, not the center, so that's where they should be tested first.
