Another (much less expensive) way to get long reach and 1:1 macro is the Tamron Adaptall 90mm macro combined with the matched 2X teleconverter. Gives you a (cheap) 180 mm macro.
I'll add that almost all versions of Tamron's 90mm macro have an excellent reputation going back to the Adaptall II.

I've been dancing around with my recently-purchased Tamron Adaptall 2 72B - 90mm f2.8 macro lens.... MF, but that's fine with me, and does 1:1 macro without an additional teleconverter...

it's sharper than I am as a photographer - I have work to do....

I like my Kiron 105mm f/2.8 macro but I wouldn't say it is better than the D FA 100mm

Although there are excellent alternatives, you'll be hard-pressed to find a macro that has better IQ than the current Pentax 100mm f2.8.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the Sigma 70mm f2.8 macro

My issue with that lens is that it isn't apochromatic, so it has issues with LoCa - in a similar way to the Zeiss 100mm f/2.

It is certainly a good lens, however on the K-1 that lens will be too short for a lot of macro subjects.
