Pentax K5IIs and Takumar F Zoom Macro 28-80 1:3.5 - 4.5 and Adobe Lightroom

Hi all,

I own the K5IIs an an amount of most modern ultra sonic lenses as well as two Takumar lenses, the F Zoom 28-80 Macro 1:3.5-4.5 and the F Zoom 70-210 1:4-5.6 ... and different to all given reports, my macro 28-80 owns 8 blades while the 70 - 210 owns 9 blades, definitely.

My concern is, to get Adobe lens correction data files for those both lenses to be used by Lightroom CC and Photoshop CC.

I tried the Adobe lense profile downloader without any result already and I am totally confused by the description of the Adobe lense profile creation tool.

For my Images shot with my DA Lenses, the Lense correction is working very well under Lightroom, while the Images made with the Takumar F Lenses are automatically assigned with an Pentax 645 lense .... definitely incorrect.

Is there anyone able to get me an hand on that?

After checking the Adobe site, I don't see the F Zoom 28-80 Macro 1:3.5-4.5 and the F Zoom 70-210 1:4-5.6 listed as supported lenses.
You may want to verify that yourself with Adobe. An option may be to ask if any PentaxForum users have profiles for your two lens that they would like to share.
Only other option is to create your own and it looks like it can be a slightly complicated process.

Well,

that is what I am looking for, any other owner of such lenses who has created the definitions for the Lens correction file.
I am german and used in Computer and Software english, but not in photographers US- english. I simply do not understand the meaning of many words and I fail in understanding the whole procedure, described in the Adobe Creation Tools User Manual. And as such is the Case, I am afraid to disturbe more than to win, if i try to create my own definitions.
And all Interface to Adobe is pure in US- english, unfortunately.

And unfortunately to many of the Pentax Full Frame lenses are not listed at Adobe. And even the Lens list at Pentaxforums as well as on pentaxians is very uncomplete in Case of Full Frame Lenses.

From my point of view, there maybe is an lack of communications between Pentax and Adobe.

Otherwise I simply would buy different full frame lenses, lenses with given definition files.

Translation:

Of the very many offered over the years are 28-80er Pentax-A Takumar-A, profiles A, Takumar-F, the "cheap" versions. As far as I can remember, they were (at least in Germany) only sold in complete packages with inexpensive Pentax enclosures. Individually there was occasionally at photo dealers, who had for a customer "entbundled". For example, there was the Program-A bundled with the Pentax-A (in GB partially with the profile-A), while the flagship Super A mostly with the top-quality lenses SMC Pentax-A 28-80 or SMC Pentax-A 1.4 / 50 was in the shop windows.

Perhaps Adobe does not believe that users of these inexpensive complete offers make RAW post. Furthermore, Pentax has so many different 28-80er built (with at least 5 different optical designs!) That one wants to give up the considerable effort to create a profile.

Incidentally, the Takumar-F seems to be a relatively rare species - the variations Takumar-A, profiles A and Pentax-A have been built in very large numbers.

Hi,

Hi,

I got the things together with a Pentax SFX acquired in San Francisco as my Minolta XM system camera suddenly gave up the ghost and I had to learn that the current Minolta cameras bayonet totally incompatible with the foregoing are and I can not use my lenses. When they told me that Pentax lenses are thoroughly compatible, I decided for Pentax. And since my budget is not enough in the sky I have accepted the offer in combination with the Takumar lenses. I was quite satisfied with the imaging performance as a result over the years. And when I durcherungen me three years ago, finally switching to digital and the K5IIs chose, I had to use budgetary reasons the Takumar lenses also initially. Actually I wanted to wait for Digital full-format cameras, but I lost to Galuben being able to me ever afford. Now the K1 comes with a price which makes me think. And again provides sih the question of lenses. After all, the new full-frame lenses are not only very expensive, they are also very difficult.

And, I now times already hunterte to DNG files shot with the Takumar lenses before I realized during the familiarization with Lightroom, that could be significantly improved with high contrast images borderline, if one uses the lens correction data.

Only I have this currently only available for the FA 100 Macro new design and my modern half-format lenses with ultrasonic focusing.

Now I would love to create the Lens Correction Data for my two lenses, if I can not get from someone who took the trouble has already undergone. Only I get to the US. Photographers English not cope and simply understand the Adobe Our Manual not know how to Lightroom and Photoshop do not really understand the Adobe webinars.
But they do have an alternative from Franzis Verlag in German, which I will purchase.

Now, before I buy the K1, I would like to have solved this problem, because I believe that to really get very good useful results with this camera and the lenses of the F and FA series in conjunction with the lens correction data.

The accompanying photos show a Pico (Azores) once worked, and even using the lens correction data for the Pentax SMC 60-250mm SDM lens and marginal corrections on sharpness and "unveiling" Lightroom and a work from a recording of K5II in conjunction with a Minolta Rokkor 1.4 to Minolta bellows, ring flash and Pentax adapter magnification approximately 1.5: 1. I like to keep busy with small structures.

Also the cheaper versions of the Pentax 28-80 zoo are good enough in the center, and if you mostly shoot wth F 8-11, you may not see too much of a difference even at borders and corners. But you will if shooting fully open or near so, specially at borders and corners. There you can see poor resolution and abberations, specially with landscape.
I had several of the cheaper ones, and kept just one of them because of the AF. But if I really need 28-80 (and the excellent near to prime Pentax 35-70 zooms are not sufficient), I take the SMC Pentax-A. As I said, not so much difference at F 8-11, but...
