my camara does not auto zoom anymore

My camara does not auto zoom anymore. I'm a novice so i'm not sure if maybe i might be doing something to prevent it from auto zooming or if its broken. Please help.

it the k-x. the lenz is Pentax 50-200

Camera doesn't zoom, the lens does. Did you try a different lens? Have you got the switch set to AF or MF?

If you're talking about live view auto zoom, check the live view menu to ensure the setting is enabled. I'm not 100% sure the K-x has it, though.

Yes, it does. Reading my K-x manual it is listed in Rec. Mode 3. At the bottom is where you activate Autofocus for live view.

For info, two different terms seem to be tangled up here:

'auto-zoom' and 'auto-focus'.

'Auto-focus' is all about finding focus - the lens and camera automatically work together to make a sharp picture, once you point the lens towards the subject you want to photograph, and press the shutter button on the camera.

'Auto-zoom' usually relates to lenses that can enlarge or reduce the image in your viewfinder (or rear display) with a push of a button on the camera or lens, or sometimes even by automatically zooming in on a subject or face for you. However, with a lens like the 50-200 on the K-x, you need to do the zooming manually by turning the zoom ring on the lens by hand.

Sorry for the confusion photolady95. I was steering my answer towards the original poster, who seemed to be unsure of how to describe what was happening with their camera.
