How much could I possibly get for the camera as is if I sold it on ebay for parts?
Do a search on ebay for 'sold' listings.

Sounds like it needed to be shown who was boss! You probably do have some crud in there and since it is now working, get it in for a good cleaning, inside and out!

Congrats!

I had a Sansa MP3 player that went through a full wash cycle. (Including hot water & extra wash time) Needless to say it was DOA and the glass had a crack in it. However, I went through a number of methods to dry it out. In the end, I gave up and threw it in a drawer.

A few years later, I was cleaning out the drawer and saw my Sansa. I charged the battery and Bam! It was like new again. If you can't sell it throw it in a drawer. Who Knows?

Used to do that with my k-5. Works like a charm.

Well, at least I'll have a camera for the summer now! Once I get a summer job and a bit of extra cash, I'll probably still buy the K-3 ii as I've been wanting an upgrade for awhile. Or maybe I should save up for the K-1... That camera looks good enough to last a life time.
