If you own a Pentax K10D, K100D or K20D, you might want to consider these books.
Pentax K10D Everything you need to know.....and then some.

Prices are outdated, but the rest of the info should still be valid.

Let's at least point out that it is your book, Yvon. I think this forum is a great place to advertise your book, so let's make sure we're transparent in advice threads like this one.

I have looked at the website for this book but I would like someone other than the author to say that this book is worth buying. My K10D is my first DSLR and I find myself wanting to know more as I read the Pentax-provided manual. Will this book do that?

I can understand your point of view. I wrote the book because there was no other book available and I was so impressed with the K10D that I wanted everyone else to be able to enjoy it too. I was thinking mostly of level-entry to amateurs when I wrote the book. You can read some reviews at the following sites:

Pentax K10D blog: yvon bourque
OK1000 Pentax Blog: K10D
The Knight Palatine: books

Thank you very much for even considering purchasing the book.

Hi Yvon,
Thank you for the URLs to the reviews of your book. I now have a better understanding of why the book was written, what it covers and how it was made. It seems like it will provide the sort of detail that a technical person like me is after.

I will buy it but will wait until my next pay day as I have spent more than I should have this month - AG360FGZ flash, M42-K adapter, new Lowepro belt pack. I hope you understand.

There is also a book by Peter K. Burian: Magic Lantern Guides: Pentax K10D (Magic Lantern Guides) (Paperback 256 pages $13.57). See Amazon.com: Magic Lantern Guides: Pentax K10D (Magic Lantern Guides): Books: Peter K. Burian.
Wonder if anyone has read this one?

I bought the K10 Bourque book. It is pretty basic but is helpful. I will recommend it as a K10D / book owner.
Brian
PS: The Magic Lantern book was not available when I bought Yvon's book. I have no knowledge of the quality of Magic Lantern Books.

I heard good things about both books and ended with the Magic Lantern book as part of my K10 purchase. I can attest to its value as a starting point for the K10D. Its basically the user manual and a basic photography course deciphered and explained with laymans terms. It served its purpose very well by me and comes recommended as such.

I hear the 'Everything...' book is coil bound though, and should suggest that this would be a better way than soft bound as the Magic Latern guide is as I found myself often switching between the book and camera quite a bit.
