K-3 II and Sigma 18-35 f/1.8

Hei Pentaxians!
I read a lot about all those problems with the Sigma 18-35.... rather than your negative experience I would like to know...
is there anyone out there which HAD problems with the autofocusing AND THEN was able to fix it somehow?
I mean... is it possible? For instance with the Sigma docking station?
I have a K-3 II by the way..
Thank you very much!
Mauro.

The dock can fix issues at specific focal lengths within the zoom range, however there is a prevailing issue of mis-focusing even on high contrast targets that utterly mystifies me. So it is indeed possible to fix BF/FF issues, but there is still an underlying AF issue with this lens that cannot be fixed.

With my K3 the lens is spot on, and some others have the same experience. Some say that they clear the issue by focusing in live view.

Regarding AF, the copy i have is flawless on K3, K3II and also tested on K-1, it's a very good lens. Maybe the misalignements reported are not related to Pentax bodies !

I think Adam's review here on the 18-35 did mention the same issue, even after exchanging it for another copy...

Oh.. sorry to hear

Maybe mine was misaligned too when out of factory, but as it travelled a lot from japan to european online store , and then though postal devilery... all the shocks, vibrations aso due to transport magically replaced the USB dock

so solution , put it on a washing machine or near a lousy car engine for some time, there's a chance to solve the issues !

Joke aside, this is pretty embarassing. If they put a high end lens, unique, on the market, they should pay more attention to quality control
