KS-2 Shutter priority problem

Our KS-2 has begun to do this;
1 Set the shutter to desires speed, for example, 1/250. So far so good.
2. If there is not enough light, camera will shoot at some (undesired slower speed)

Has anybody seen this? Any ideas?

If it does it in a manual mode or other than auto shutter (TV) mode that would seem odd.

If you're in Tv or M mode, this shouldn't happen. It can happen in hyper program, however. It could also happen if you've inadvertently enabled bracketing.

Have you got Auto EV Compensation turned on in the custom menus? (It's item 6 in the C1 menu in my K-3II.) If you have, then yes, it will lower the shutter speed if correct exposure conditions are not met.

What exposure mode are you using when this happens? The max sync speed when the flash pops up is 1/180" on the K-S2 and that could be the cause.
