SR44 / S76 batteries are what you need:

I just did a quick search on Google for Pentax K-1000 battery and got plenty of results The battery you need is, apparently, an LR44 (alkaline) although the silver oxide equivalent is preferred - so, SR44, Energizer 357 or equivalent...

Different brands (Duracell, Energizer, etc.) will call them different things MS76, SR44 or LR44, 357, etc. but they all work fine. Fairly common battery you should find at any place that sells button cell batteries for about $2.

TIP: A single LR44 may be a few dollars. For about the same price, you can get a cheap laser pointer that has 3 LR44 inside...... Just a thought.....

Thanks,

I've always found them at a pack of 3 for 1 dollar at Dollar Tree And they worked fine in my K1000, P30T and Minilta XG-M
