Ricoh Mirai not focusing

Hey all!

Just wanted to check if anyone here has any knowledge of the Ricoh Mirai? Found one at a thrift store and decided to pick it up for fun, but I can't get it to focus, either through autofocus or "manual focus". The shutter, zoom, flash etc works fine though.

Did I just pick up a junker? =)

Update: Turns out the AF switch on the underside was set to "M", so that solves the previous issue. However, now the zoom seems to have stopped working. It's stuck on 40-45mm according to the LCD. If I try to set it to "Macro" it makes a loud beep, same thing when I turn it off. Also, the AF still doesn't work. I just put fresh batteries in, 4 AAAs.

Thanks, I read that but couldn't find anything mentioning the beeping in the troubleshooting section. Closest thing is on page 32, where it mentions some situations where the zoom will not work.
