Use minimum-option for time between exposures. Then it always works right. I have done hundreds of composites this way. I set the number of exposures to X, then delay between exposures to minimum instead of Y seconds.
Interval timer is generally a mess. For all brands.
Be aware that, with cameras having the accelerator chip, minimum delay is anything between 2-5 seconds after exposure length is longer than ~25 seconds. This happens with KP and K-1 MK2.
If the delay is longer than 2sec, trails may appear with small gaps in them. Then put the camera to continuous mode and shoot away with remote release triggered down and combine aftwerwards in post. This bypasses random delays with long exposures.
