I have tried to cross-thread mine, and because of the courseness of the thread, I think it would be very difficult to actually get the lens on cross-threaded. I remain convinced that it should be able to be removed. I would not attach it to the camera to test that, but if you have an old (broken) film body somewhere, you could use that to test.

Here, too, a photo showing it with the other type of adapter, just for interest sake.

Before starting cutting, have you tried to (carefully) hold the adapter in a cloth, and hold it gently in a vice and unscrew the lens, anti-clockwise?

Thanks Mark that setup looks the same. I will take it to home depot and sample their slip nose plier and their vice : ) and if that doesn't work. Then I'll try surgery. I don't mind losing the adapter it wasn't expensive.

I have good news, my neighbor had a vice in the garage. And we got it off, I tried to dremel it but didn't realize the lip comes up that far. Where it threads. I'm not using that kind again. Patiently waiting on the pentax one. I'm so happy no damage

Thanks to all,

Thanks to all,
Did you manage to work out why it would not come off?

ha ha, no way. I'm just glad it came off without any damage to the lens/glass. And then I threw it in the garbage. I guess it was just really stuck. In a bad way
