Shutter Count

How do I find the shutter count on my K3?

If you purchased the camera new, and it's always been in the "continuous file count" mode, then just take a test photo. Read the name of that photo. The"number" in the photo's name will be your shutter count.

Other than that, do a google search on the subject and you'll find a few free websites that will enable you to do this.

Most entry level DSLRs are rated for 100,000 actuations, whereas flagship or pro models are double that. Ideally, your K10D should have another 40-60,000 shots. But beware, like tires, it's not always the mileage but how the camera is used or abused and the age which can shorten the predicted shutter counts.

My K5 that I wanted to get a shutter count on and am going to sell has 8,039 as a shutter count. The body etc. Is in +++mint condition. I will sell with a grip. Thanks for the assistance.
