Spotmatic F exposure counter is loose/not working

Hello again forum! I managed to find myself a Spotmatic F on eBay (in good condition) there is one issue, however, where the counter of exposures isn't working properly. So I can't tell how many photos I've taken, nor when I'm loading the film when the counter hits zero(to know I loaded correctly) is there any tips for this? Or should I just live with a few missed exposures?

One thing you can check is the switch that is tripped by the door opening. It is in the top door groove to the right. You will see a slot that a projection on the door fits into in order to reset the counter when open. The old foam seals may have jammed the works. Sometimes gentle up-down pressure on the advance lever may unstick the counter.

It's not stuck, though. It's actually just freely rotating.

You don't need a counter since the camera won't let you double expose unless you press in the release underneath (have you checked to see it is not stuck depressed?). Just remember not to force the advance when you feel resistance at the end of the film.
