Auto focus indicator and beep is still on even after releasing shutter button

Hi guys,

Own a used Pentax K7, and fitted with a manual SMC-A 50mm lens. Noticed that at times, even when I released the shutter button after taking a shot, the auto focus green hexagon indicator and beep will still be on...and camera beeps and beeps.

Is this normal. It felt funny.

There's a menu setting that controls the number of seconds the light meter remains active. This will affect how long the AF system / meter operate following a half-press.

However, it's also possible that you might have a sticky shutter button, which can happen after prolonged use.

This is normal. Your K-7's AF system's focus confirmation feature remains active as long as the camera is not in standby mode. You can turn the beep off if it bugs you.
