DA 1.4x AW AF Rear Converter and SDM issues

Hi folks. Firstly, let me thank you for the opportunity for us to be able to contact you with our questions. Very much appreciated.

My question about the 1.4x TC is about the unavailability of the in-camera lens corrections being disabled when using it. Is it only a firmware issue, or other factors involved? I also have a question regarding the wonderful DA* lenses and the SDM issues ( in which Ricoh had no involvement ) and whether a firmware update would be possible to disable the SDM drive, and engage the screw drive as an in camera adjustment. Optically the lenses are superb, but the " fear " of SDM failure is preventing many more of these lenses being purchased I feel.

Thanks Bruce for the speedy reply. Very much appreciate yours, and Ricoh's, involvement with Pentax forums. Having your " ear " is great.
