K1 color error

Hello, up until yesterday my K-1 was working stellar. When I turned it on, the menu was pink and white (normally I have it set for the green/black color scheme). Even when scrolling through the pictures everything was pink/white. The only way to fix it was to power down, remove the battery, and wait a minute or two to fire it back up. What happened / what is happening?
