Ok, one last comment and looking for a response. Christmas and taking care of wife, kids, grandkids and friends I really need to hold off a purchase right now. So, please indulge me on what I am fixing to say and give me your opinions. I am thinking about using my DA*300mm F4 on candid and posed portraits. Here are a few photos I did with my 300mm so you could see. These were done using my K3-II a few months ago at the Blues Fest and I believe that it will even work better on my K1. What do you think?
May not necessarily work better FOV wise. Your k3 shots are mostly head shots. K1 will give you a wider field of view at 300 than your k3. So these photos may look like shoulder shots on k1. If that's better according to you then yes. The wider FOV also renders more OOF areas though so images will look good in general. But if you want tighter head shots then you may need to get closer to the subjects or use 150-450 zoom at 450 for similar looking shots but at k1 resolution and sharpness.
