How to Activate Full Frame Mode for DA*300mm F4?

Please read the following and especially the part in bold letters. I can't figure out how to manually activate the full frame mode for my DA*300mm F4.

The DA* 200mm F2.8 is based on a film-era design (the FA* 200mm F2.8)
Certain DA lenses are actually based on film-era optical designs, such as the DA* 200mm F2.8 and DA* 300mm F4. These two lenses, along with the DA 560mm F5.6, are actually officially supported by the K-1's full frame mode; the K-1 contains special full-frame lens correction profiles for these lenses in addition to the standard crop profiles used by all other Pentax DSLRs. Full frame mode will still need to be manually activated for these lenses.

Hit the info button and on the very bottom row, second from left is an icon that should read FF. If you scroll down to it and hit it, it will give you three options -- FF, crop and auto. I normally have it set to FF, as even if I need to crop an image, I will just do it in post.

based on the manual it appears to me that this should be active with auto, or FF mode setting for the crop mode

Rodnec it worked! If I put the DA*300mm F4 on auto it would automatically use crop mode and crop the photo, but if I put it on FF it would take a full frame photo, this is cool. Good now my 300mm Prime will work full frame on my K1, this is cool. Also, it is a much sharper photo than on my K3-II when compared side by side. thanks again (this K1 is just absolutely awesome, just awesome.

I use the settings control dial and wheel to switch between cropped and FF. I can do this without looking away from the OVF. One thing i have noticed there is a delay with the switching, it can be switched quickly whilst shooting.

Kiwipixter, that is very fast, just tried it. WOW! man am I ever loving this K1, it puts the operations of the three Canon cameras I had in the shade and so much easier. Also, it is so cool how Bulb is so much easier to operate on the K1.

You can also toggle between FF, 1:1, crop and AUTO using the function dial (to the right of the pentaprism) and the third e-wheel. I find that quicker.

I keep my function wheel set to crop most of the time. It helps to switch to FF on DA primes and zooms. The DA limited 40, 70 and the DA 12-24 all work pretty well on the K-1 but of course you have to manually switch to FF mode.

Agree that function dial is very useful, and well placed. Easy to locate by feel, and change quickly.

The 'Crop' position on the dial has been particularly handy with a FF lens like the Sigma 70-200 when shooting events. Nice to have easy access to that extra reach when needed.

I am glad someone is using the MFD (multi-function dial) for things other than ISO. I could not see its use beyond ISO (and I am delighted) but I am wrong already.

I love the MFD and this is just something else I can use the dial for quickly and glad someone showed me how.

Ok, one last comment and looking for a response. Christmas and taking care of wife, kids, grandkids and friends I really need to hold off a purchase right now. So, please indulge me on what I am fixing to say and give me your opinions. I am thinking about using my DA*300mm F4 on candid and posed portraits. Here are a few photos I did with my 300mm so you could see. These were done using my K3-II a few months ago at the Blues Fest and I believe that it will even work better on my K1. What do you think?

Here is a shot with my K1 and 24-70mm f/2.8 when hiking in the Old River Management area along Old River. I am really liking this set up.
