Possible to adapt a vivitas series 1 to a K1000?

I have my dad's old k1000 and a vivitar series 1 70-210mm 1:3.5. My problem is that the vivitar will not fit to the k1000. Is there an adapter to make this work?

Best that you photograph the mount so that members can identify which mount it is. See also http://www.robertstech.com/vivitar.htm

That's what I figured. I tried and it said to enter the URL. What would be the best way to go about this?

Vivitar Series 1 lenses came in a variety of mounts. If yours is not a Pentax K-mount, you can search around and find one that is. The Series 1 lenses are almost always a good value.

Photos of the mount of the lens in question would definitely help.

Alternatively Vivitar lenses will have inscribed near the base of the lens a code indicating for what camera mount the lens for. This is usually a code like P/K, C/CD etc. If you can find and report what the inscription is we can probably figure out what mount the lens is for.

Do you have any other lenses? Do any of them mount on the body? It is possible that the screwmount to K-mount adapter is mount on the body and the Vivitar is K-mount. Or the Vivitar is screwmount and the camera lacks the adapter.
