Price of lenses?

I am planning to post lenses for sale on this forum but am unsure how to price them. For example, I have a Zeiss 50 1.7, c/y mount and have seen prices ranging from $100.00 to $250.00. Thoughts? Suggestions?

It's simply a matter of conducting your own research, Ken.

Look on eBay for both domestic and international sales of the same items. Search our Marketplace for previous listings (and look on other forums too). Compare prices from on-line retailers of used equipment.

We're all in the same boat when selling stuff. No-one here can tell you what the right prices should be. Just do a little research, set your prices, and be prepared to accept offers of slightly less (or not, as the case may be). If the item doesn't sell, you can choose to bring the prices down a bit, or hang on to the equipment.

Also look under the header Lenses. Some folks post the price they paid for the lens.

Its been interesting to watch the PF market over the past few years as well. At one point certain lenses were uncommon and an others more so. The year leading up to the K1 certain lenses became more available but their prices were higher than previous. After the K1 they were very rare and even more costly. Certain lenses like the DA ltds flooded the market and dropped in price because of the K1. Other budget lenses FA, DA F, A, M, etc don't seem to change much as they continue being passed around for people to try. Timing has a lot to do with it I suppose.
