KS-2 custom white balance?

I am just wondering if I am missing something. I am taking an intermediate level photog class, and the instructor was talking about setting up custom white balance, but my KS-2 doesn't seem to have that option.. I can't imagine why they wouldn't include what sounds like such a simple option. I know you can just correct white balance in pp, but it would be nice to get it right in camera, and sometimes the best option is to use an 18% grey card.

The manual says press the down arrow on the 4-way controller in Standby mode, then second-to-last item on the white balance menu that pops up, Manual White Balance. I would have started looking through menus but Pentax put it there to make it easier.

Yeah, the WB menu on the K-S2 is like just like on the other recent Pentax models. Accessible directly via the 4-way pad.

Of course, it's best to shoot in RAW so you can retroactively fiddle with the white balance.

Laura, you're allowed to underexpose your WB shot on the card (or piece of white paper if you don't have one on you), but don't overexpose.

Thank you all for your comments. I am aware of how to set manual wb. I just thought there should have been a way to save it as a custom wb. I don't think the MWB option does this?

You get one save - see p70 of the manual.

The K-1 gives you three.
