I have large hands but found the extra size of a grip annoying. However you are already used to it so it should work for you.

I've recently aquired a D-BG4 grip for my K-5. It's been a joy to have more camera to hold. I have big hands and missed the bulk of my SFX and SFXn.

I went from a k100d super to a k-50 and the a k-3. I love my k-3. However the 16mp k-50 was such a major jump from the 6mp k100d super that the move to the k-3 was more about other features than resolution.
Similar path for me: K100D Super -> K-30 (two of them) - > K-3. I also got a K-S2 as a second body to go with the K-3. I agree with UV that the jump from 6mp sensor to the 16mp sensor in the K-30 was bigger than from K-30 to K-3. The K100D Super was very limited in low light. If you pick up any of the Pentax cameras from about 2013 onwards you will be astounded by how much more they offer than the K10D.

If your budget runs to a used K-3, go for it. It is an outstanding camera, and a great value second-hand buy at present. It will meet your needs for a long time. You might find one bundled with a DA 18-135 lens - which is a very good walk-around lens.

There's a certain irony. I have hamfists and yet I like my Panasonic GX-1 and my Panasonic LX-7 which are tiny. I prefer the way the K-3 feels but I have big palms and my fingers are more average length so the K-3 feels really really awesome as is. With the battery removed from the body and just one grip battery the weight isn't too bad but I never got used to the grip even so. I also never cared for external motor drives back in the film era. Well... I did like the FM / FE with the MD-11/MD-12 series motor on it.

Hi to all!
Thanks you guys for lovely advices.
As I've mentioned before I've decided to go for K3 but have to wait till my birthday. And here it is. New and shiny (well not that shiny K3 sitting proudly next to my K10D thanks to my better half!

Picked it up just today so it will take some time before I will actually share abything with you but it is extraordinary piece of tech I must say (especially compared to K10).

Thanks to you all again and I can't wait to get this new buddy for a spin around!
