K-500 maybe aperture problem

I think I have the dreaded aperture problem, but not sure. When I look at the lens, it seems like the aperture is fixed. I was wondering, when you set the camera to aperture mode, is the shutter speed supposed to change or the ISO? When I do it, the ISO changes. Same as in shutter preferred mode.

More information would be helpful ....what lens exactly, and if it's a manual focus lens then what about the aperture ring setting ? Also what do you see on the Camera status screen ....e.g., aperture figure, ISO and Shutter? Does the camera take a well exposed image with the settings it automatically chooses?

That sounds more like a lens or settings issue than the Dreaded Aperture Block Problem. With DABP, camera behavior appears to be normal prior to the shot, but pictures come out extremely underexposed.
