My K3II is pretty much the perfect camera for field macro work. Plus, it's as durable as any Pentax flagship. I bought the little 201 flash when I got the camera, and haven't really missed the onboard unit. I still have my K5, and use it in situations where I don't need the GPS but might want pop-up flash, or just to have the long zoom as well as the K3II with macro.

You can't go wrong with either K3 or K3II. Keep your K50 as a second body with a complimentary lens - WA if you have long on the other.

If it does break, you can buy the AA adapter and some Eneloops and keep using it with what ever lenses you want.
Funny enough, this fix worked for some but not for others, including me. I wonder why.
