K10D Autofocus Has Quit

The autofocus on my K10 D no longer works. It has worked fine for years, but has stopped. I have done some research which suggests cleaning the contacts. I assume that means the battery contacts and perhaps the lens as well but I would appreciate any recommendations. Thanks in advance.

Body contacts and lens contacts.

Did you try another lens?

Can you tell us which two lenses you have? Also, can you check to see if the screwdrive slot is jammed or not? While a lens is mounted, slowly and gently rotate the focus ring. There should be some tension, but it should rotate if there is no jam.

Thanks for Suggestions

Thanks for the suggestions. I will give them a try and see if they solve the problem.

You've probably checked this already, but if you usually use half-press to focus then just make sure you haven't set the camera up for back button focus. Changed the set up on my K-r once and caused about half an hour of panic until I realized what I'd done...

Many years ago, my k10 had a failure where the lens locking pin failed to engage the lens.

The problem is, when the locking pin. Is recessed, the AF is also disengaged.

It is in the mechanism behind the lens mount.

I never bothered getting it fixed, I use the k10 as an M42 body
