Plenty of wind but no rain as yet so have been in the garden.
I tried it on the monopod using a 55-300 DA L, from about 8 metres and 20 metres, the distances where I seem to be able to shoot garden birds (8m) and a squirrel (20m) without them getting too perturbed. The 20m shots were not sharp even at 1/160th sec but from 8m I got a reasonable image at speeds I doubt I would have been able to hand hold. Maybe SR helped but I am not able to hand hold well.
The head seems a bit more stable than my table top tripods are with a long lens, if only this head had wheels or levers to lock it rather than an allen key.
