SILKYPIX software

Anybody knows where I can get a copy of Pentax SILKYPIX software. It was on my old computer and I lost the original disk.

There is a thread somewhere here about using a "fake" disk to get the download.

You can also try another software like RawTherapee or FastStone or.. Darktable? I think there are a couple that are free and pretty good.
Lightroom is not free, but its pretty good, very easy to use and still powerful. Most of the pay software allow a free trial if you just want to check it out

I use FastStone Image Viewer, Screen Capture, Photo Resizer ... for non-conversion tasks, though it can do that, too. Some handy features.

There is indeed a hack to allow the update version to be installed as if it were an original. It is, of course a violation of the copyright and terms of license to do that.

But OP has a license, just not a physical copy of it. If you misplaced the physical copy of a contract, that doesn't make the contract null, it just makes it more difficult to prove if there is an argument about it. Of course, owning a new DSLR could be considered some sort of 'proof', since new DSLRs always come with a license for that software

I'm not a copyright lawyer so I can't say whether he is technically entitled to install the download or not, but if I were in his place I would probably do itt anyway.

The Pentax software has some features especially for Pentax cameras, but i find it pretty complicated and slow

Pardon my ignorance, I know this may seem stupid but can you edit (straighten) the horizon level in silkypix? Can you also install text in your pictures using silkypix? I don't normally edit my pictures anywhere except the software that goes with my camera.

Yes you can. It's a bit cumbersome if I remember correctly, i believe you open the crop and rotate it whereas most other software uses a "straight line" function.

Same here, I use Faststone almost exclusively; and best of all, it's free.

Embarrassed to say, I've never used my copy of SilkyPix. Perhaps I should give it a try.

Thanks. I was able to do it.

What about water marks or adding text such as photographer's name? Can it be done in silkypix?
