Hi Jadina... have you read the K-30 manual? If you don't have a copy, you can download one from here:

SLR Pentax K-30 - RICOH IMAGING EUROPE S.A.S

You may still have questions after reading it and trying everything out, but until that point it will be difficult for others here to help.

Read through the manual, try the different modes, and see if you get the results you'd expect - then come back and let us know?

Good luck!

I know this is a stupid question but did you take the lens cap off? If you try to shoot with the lens cap on , The numbers will flash because it is registering a way underexposure settings everything will be black and when you try to shoot it will be like it isn't because it is doing several second shot trying to get an acceptable exposure. Please don't ask how I know this.

Yes, you have a factory reset option in the menu of the camera. Do that, remove and fully charge the battery.

The reset procedure is on p.217 of the operating manual

I'm about 99% sure that your K-30 is being affected by the "common" aperture block failure.

Pentax K-30 & K-50 - PentaxForums.com

^ Take a look at the aperture block failure threads on that forum. You're going too see all kinds of "fixes", but the only permanent repair is replacing the "green" solenoid for a "white" one. That requires some soldering.

https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/151-pentax-k-30-k-50/385045-manual-solen...id-choice.html

^ This thread will give you an idea.

According to earlier posts you have owned this camera since at least July 2017.

this does sound like the aperture block issue....

have you been able to use this camera body since the last time you posted an issue with it?
