Live View Focus Point?

I am a new owner of the K-1. I am shooting with the DFA 28-105mm, in AV mode, with Live VIew, focus method SEL or AUTO or 3x3 grid.

Question: How do I control where the focus point is in Live View?

Experience: When shooting as described above, I first see white corner brackets in Live View; the brackets cover ~70% of the screen. When I depress the shutter half-way, a small green box appears somewhere on the screen and the white brackets disappear. I assume the green box is the focus point. If it is, I am confused that the small green box shows up at different locations in different scenes, i.e., in one scene it will be in the upper right-hand corner of the screen, in a different scene it will appear center-bottom, in another upper left. This phenomenon occurs even with different focus methods.

Your explanations of what is going on and how to control the focus point in Live View will be appreciated.

Thank you.

Press the AF point selection button, with is right next to the 4-way pad. This will allow you to change the location of the AF point, or if you select auto point mode, you'll be able to change the size of the AF area.

The white brackets are the focus area, the green ones are where the camera decided to focus.
