Pentax option mx4 SD card support

What is maximum SD card supports on optio mx4,

it comes with a default 32mb card, what the maximum size i can upgrade,
I tried with a 2gb card and it shows memory card error,

Is there any software update to solve this problem?

.Please help

That is one old camera! The manual says it only supports standard SD cards, i.e. those <= 4Gb. Some 4Gb cards are SDHC, not SD, so if you want to be 100% sure it will work, get a 2Gb card:

If you're still getting the error, try formatting the card in-camera or on a PC using the FAT32 or FAT16 (more likely) file system.
