M42 lens stuck on spotmatic body

Just purchased a Pentax Spotmatic with a Super Takumar 28MM lens on it. My problem is that I can't get the lens off, it won't budge!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That happened to me when I bought a SP500. I used a small strap wrench with a plastic handle from a local DIY store for a few pounds, wrapped it around the focus ring and gently applied pressure in the unscrewing direction. Even though I couldn't unscrew it by hand, it took surprisingly little effort to free it, and then of course it unscrewed normally.
