KP continuous autofocus lenses in Video

Bismillah

Can anyone please tell me which lenses allow continuous AF in video? I have tried the 40mm f2.8 xs and the 18-135 on the KP. None work. I get the message "continuous AF not allowed with this lens". Thanks.

It's supposed to be all DC and PLM lenses, so it's strange that the 18-135mm isn't working for you!

Can anyone verify first hand what lenses actually work or have worked for them? Thanks.

The review on this website makes the function sound pretty dire. Would be interesting to know if anyone has had better results.

I have tried these steps, included in the review, and am not given the option to enable continuous AF in liveview. Maybe I am doing something wrong. Is there another step that must be done before this? Anyone know? Thanks

Thanks. What is your experience with the lens? Is it worth buying just for video?

I don't know about video, but the lens is a wonderful all around lens that focuses like lightning and silently. It is not very fast though so your mileage may vary.

I would recommend going into a camera store that stocks Pentax and trying out some of the lenses they have, I'm sure most of the newer lenses support it. The DFA 28-105 could be a good lens for this.

However, given that the review I posted earlier makes it seem like the continuous autofocus doesn't work very well, I'd recommend testing this feature before buying a specific lens to use for it.

That is what I have seen from other non pro video Cameras, even Sony's and Panasonics. The only cameras I have seen do exceptionally in this regard is Canon with their dual pixel AF, but most of their cameras don't have 4K. It seems to me Pentax is not that far off in video. Im hoping they can expand their lens support for C AF and 4K support by the time the successor of the K3II comes out.

Damn....
I bought HD DFA 28-105 based on the review Pentax KP Review - Movie Mode | PentaxForums.com Reviews to have conitnues AF.... now I am with lenses that are useless (no applicable for the task I was buying them...)

Can anyone update the review, not the make other lose their money?

Well, good to know, that even with transgran purchase, Russia, I can still try to return....

Interesting. According to page 5 of the KP product page on Ricohs website, it only works with the HD DA 55-300 PLM.
