Kiron lenses are well regarded:

They will work on your K-3 provided they are K mount

You may have to enable use of aperture ring in the settings on the camera depending on if the copy you're considering is a PK or PKA mount type. Basically if it doesn't have an A position on the ring, you'll need to enable.

Seems to review well.

These lenses might have a large flange/shield next to the aperture lever. If you look at a Pentax lens, the flange is just a little longer than the aperture lever travel - about 5/8" or 16mm long. Longer flanges will run into the SDM contacts in the mount so the lens won't mount on the camera. You can just remove the extended part of the flange. There are a lot of threads on doing this with Vivitar lenses.

You'll have to choose a focal length to enter for SR. I'd go with 135mm because I'm likely to use the lens at that length or longer.

I concur. It certainly has the right to run with the big boys.
