Update of DCU 5 cannot find the old version to update on my K-3ii

Help. Trying to install the latest update to the Digital Camera Utility 5. I just installed the DCU 5 app that came with my K-3ii yesterday on a separate hard drive, a G-Drive, because it needed more memory than my MacBook provides. I then downloaded the DCU5 update from the Pentax website today to the same app folder in the G-Drive. Problem is I cannot get the update to recognize the DCU app. When I try to install the update, I get an Alert that the old version cannot be found. Yet both app and update are in the same folder. Is the problem that the DCU app is located on a G-Drive, not on my Mac? Anyone else have this problem? Thanks a lot.

Put in the original CD if you have it/have a CD drive, otherwise follow this hack:
