a little frustrated. is there any co. out there that makes accessories for Pentax lenses and cameras. that work on the k1, like extenders, teleconverters?

Yes, but they are not always easy to find. Is there anything in particular you're looking for?

lens extender, or a teleconverter. or other odd stuff I see for Nikon or cannon. Pentax makes a very good product, I have been with them for about 20 yr, but am now retired and am looking to get involved more.

The only new teleconverter is the DA 1.4x, and it is not going to give you full frame coverage with all lenses.

Alternatives include the Sigma 1.4x and 2.0x teleconverters, which should give you AF support, but are not available new.

For manual focus there are more options, such as the A 1.4x:
